| 2006 marks 10 years of ownership of my 90na. It has been a fun car for autocrossing and has proven itself over and over again. It has earned several trophies at local Z car meets. It has also been mechanically sound except for the chronic 300zx weaknesses (brake rotors, etc.). So anyway I decide to run a Carfax report on it yesterday.
I was SHOCKED to find out it had been in a severe accident in 1994. (Carfax notes "usually ends up with a salvage title"). I feel bummed and amazed at the same time. The body shop who did the work left absoluteley NO tell tale signs of body repair. I typically pride myself in being able to spot this stuff a mile away. I was also pissed thinking back to when I bought the car second hand in 1996 and what a sweetheart the guy was who sold it to me. DICK! Well the Z lost a little of it's shine yesterday. Hopefully I'll get over it now that the resale value is nearing $0. Carfax works! I wouldn't buy any used car without it. Thanks for the therapy,
